Making History
They said it couldn't be done. We proved them wrong. Eyes went wide and jaws dropped when Emirates Airlines unveiled the world's tallest window graphic displaying the "STATUE OF LIBERTY" to mark the airline's nonstop route to New York City. Wrapped around the 55-story 21st century tower, reportedly the world's tallest residential tower, reportedly the world's tallest residential tower, the incredible vision measured 394 feet-high and was seen from more than six miles away.
Of course, what was not visible is UCF's record-breaking effort which was behind the scenes. UCF was commissioned to install the Emirates Airlines' Statue of Liberty graphics on the 21st Century Tower. The statistics are just as dazzling. The graphic actually allowed unobstructed views from the inside and covered 62,162 square feet. It consumed 365 quarts of ink and took more than 20 hours to finish the artwork. Three person-teams took 26 days to print, cut and trim the material and installation took over 3,000 work hours.
